LIFT-OFF
Lets Improve Frazer Theatre - Our Fighting Fund
Now, more than ever, the Frazer Theatre finds itself in need of funds. For nearly fourty years the Knaresborough Players, the amateur drama group who own the theatre, have funded and run the theatre through money raised from performances of plays, pantomimes and, more recently, films. However, costs have risen and legal requirements have changed, particularily in regard to regulations regarding disabled access, leaving the theatre needing help from you, our audiences.
The Players themselves have been working very hard organising events to bring in the funds we need to complete such projects as new disabled toilets, new seating, improved lighting and a face-lift for the outside of the building (which is now nearly 110 years old).
Why should you help? There are very few small towns like Knaresborough who have their own theatre. It is something to be proud of and to cherish. It is used by all sorts of people in the community, from the very young to the not so young. It is a venue unlike any other in the area with its small size but friendly atmosphere. It is used for many events like FEVA, The School Of Speech and Drama and, of course, has enabled Knaresborough to have its own Cinema, something it has been missing for many years. So to keep this major benefit to the town we need your help by supporting our fund raising events or by coming along to our shows. Either way you can help us while having a good time !
