Joining The Knaresborough Players
We are always looking for new members who can bring new talent or would like to learn a new talent.
Remember there is a lot more to amateur theatre than just acting!
Here is a list of just some of the departments we have in the society:-- Acting - appearing on stage.
- Directing - making a play come to life with your vision.
- Set building - using your skills with a saw and screwdriver.
- Set painting- use your artistic skills on a larger scale!
- Properties - an eye for period design is useful here.
- Costume - knowledge of fashions both modern and historical.
- Make-up - creating both monsters and beauty!
- Technical - including lights, sound effects and special effects.
- Front of house - welcoming our audience to the show.
- Fund raising - getting us that much needed financing.
- Marketing - letting people know about the theatre.
- Advertising - planning and designing the tickets and posters.
If there is one of the above skills that you would like to learn then in many cases we have experienced people willing to teach you.
As you can see, there is more to theatre than standing in the spotlight so, why not come along to one of our rehearsals. They are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays but call us first on 01423 866658 to confirm we are in rehearsal.
