Running from 19th to 27th July, the Knaresborough Comedy Festival 2019 will take place over two weekends giving the chance to see performances from eight fantastic comedians.

There will be a double bill show at 8pm on the Friday and Saturday nights, each with two full Edinburgh Festival previews.

On Friday 19th July The Knaresborough Comedy Festival 2019 gets underway with two firm favourites from the Frazer Theatre Comedy Club, back with their brand new shows. Harriet Dyer, one of the most beloved acts to ever grace the Frazer Theatre stage, brings an inevitable whirlwind of chaos to town with a show on her favourite subject-dinosaurs. Then Lou Conran, often seen raiding the theatre costume store, presents an hour of thoughts, sometimes random, sometimes inappropriate, but always brilliantly funny.

On Saturday 20th July it’s a first for the Knaresborough Comedy Festival, as we present our first ever comedy play! Real-life husband and wife Rob Rouse and Helen Rutter won huge plaudits for their first play last year and their second effort sees them discuss what happens when stand-up gets too close to home. Then, following a massively popular debut at the Frazer Theatre Comedy Club last year, the legendary Boothby Graffoe presents a brand-new best-of show. Can a show be brand-new and best-of? Boothby intends to find out!

On Friday 26th July, the second week of the Knaresborough Comedy Festival 2019 starts with one of our all-time favourite acts and another appearing for the very first time. Tom Toal’s brand new show is another hour in his trademark style -relatable, confessional, personal and always hilarious. Mark Simmons is enjoying a meteoric rise in the comedy industry and is one of the best pure joke-slingers you’ll ever see. Together it’s another night of comedy of the very highest order!

On Saturday 27th July the final night of the Knaresborough Comedy Festival 2019 brings together a sell-out smash and a local hero! Born and raised in Harrogate, Maisie Adam is one of the fastest rising stars around, having been nominated for best newcomer at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival. Former detective Alfie Moore enjoyed a turn-away crowd for his tour show at the Frazer last year and it’s no wonder, as his unique worldview always brings audiences to tears of laughter.
