Christmas is coming early to the Frazer Theatre as The Trust Us Theatre Company presents Mike Harding’s “Comfort and Joy” from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th November.
The extended family descends on the Duggan household for a proper family Christmas. There’s the two daughters, one a bossy teacher from Knaresborough, the other a Sloan Ranger and her arty boyfriend up from London. Then there’s the outrageously curmudgeonly uncle who lives down the road and his estranged daughter and son in law over from Australia who haven’t been back for thirty years.
Despite bucketsful of Christmas spirit what comfort and joy there was at the start of the festivities soon dissipates in the face of deeply held grudges, rampant pets and grotty plumbing. Add in a few frankly nutty neighbours and you have all the ingredients for a classic Mike Harding gagfest with carols – lots of carols. You will go back into the night with a warm Christmassy glow, surely your family Christmas could never be that bad…
Tickets are £10 (+£1 booking fee) and are available from our online box office by clicking the Buy Tickets button. Doors open at 6:45pm, the performance starts at 7:30pm.
