Fresh from winning 3 prizes at the Nidderdale and District Festival of One Act Plays, on Saturday 12th August the Knaresborough Players present Peter Shaffer’s hilarious on-act farce, Black Comedy.
The action is set in the flat of young artist Brindsley Miller on the night when a famous German millionaire George Bamberger is visiting to view his work, a night when he is also to meet the father of his dippy debutante fiancée Carol Melkett. Following a power cut, plunging the flat into darkness we follow Brindsley’s struggles to keep everyone happy and cover up his web of lies. The action supposedly in the dark is illuminated; when the lights are on, the stage is in the dark! Puzzle this one out!
Following the play, audience members are invited to stay and have a drink with the cast.
Tickets are £8 per person including one drink each and are available from the Knaresborough Tourist Information in the Library, by phone on 01423 866886 or online by clicking here.
Doors open 7.30pm, show starts 8pm.
