The Nidderdale One-Act Drama Festival has been a much-loved staple of the local amateur drama scene since 1963. This year’s event, adjudicated by Chris Baglin of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators, takes place from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th March and will feature The Knaresborough Players, Woodlands Drama Group, the Harrogate Dramatic Society and Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society (seniors and juniors).
The repertoire is, as usual, varied and vibrant and features a play by local author Keith Burton.
The event is affiliated to the All-England Theatre Festival (AETF) and the winners will go forward to contest the AETF Northern Final at Washington Arts Centre, Tyne and Wear over the weekend of 4th to 5th May. This year, the prestigious British Final of One-Act plays provides a special incentive for the winning Nidderdale festival group since this culminating event of the festival season will be held locally at Harrogate Theatre on 5th and 6th July.
